Pastor Jarad has served in full-time ministry since 2006. He previously served on the staffs of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Matthias’ Lot Church. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary. God surprised the Corzine family by calling them away from a loving church family and Jarad’s previous pastoral role in order to relocate and serve Granite City by: 1) beginning from their home and living intentionally in their neighborhood, and 2) mobilizing the local church to serve the community through caring for one’s neighborhood. They stepped out in faith, and the Lord provided an opportunity to do just that. In 2017 Jarad accepted the call of Associate Pastor of Unity Baptist Church, providing pastoral care for its members, giving staff support to its family ministries, and leading the mission of implementing what we call the “Unity Project”…an intentional decision to move the church members out of the church building and into the community to show others the love of the gospel. Throughout his career a few themes have been consistent: carry your cross for Christ in response to the LORD’s scandalous grace, make disciples by inviting younger Christians to walk “with you” as you follow Jesus together, and prayerfully be a part of the spread of the gospel to those who have not yet experienced it…both across the street and around the world. Pastor Jarad is blessed to be married to his wife Sarah. They have 3 wonderful children: Reed, Blane, and Emery…as well as 2 dogs they enjoy walking around town. The Corzine family is thankful to live in Granite City!
